"My nomadic journey has given me dreamlike experiences as if I am wandering through a fluid world. Without deep roots in one culture, I view various cultures as gateways to understanding and observing them with curiosity. I’m captivated by how different perspectives manifest through diverse styles and forms of expression. Within our globalized society, I navigate complex feelings about home, freedom, and reality, often feeling like an outsider adrift in space. Painting has become my practice for grounding myself in this ever-changing world. I was drawn to dots and fluid lines. As I followed each mark, I began adapting to this new language, mirroring my own sense of floating through life. I believed I could adapt to a changing world, but now I see fleeting connections and feel a longing to belong. When I came across the idea of Liquid Modernity, it resonated deeply. I realized that my path wasn’t about adapting to a shifting world, but about melting into it—embracing rather than resisting." - Soo Hong
